You know how to help the "easy" clients. The ones who don't need convincing, weekly pep talks, or constant follow-up to stick to the plan.
Unfortunately, that's not usually the case.
And that's where an uncomfortable truth gets revealed: you know you're a good coach, but clients who struggle to stay motivated and consistent make you start to question your coaching abilities…
You know the clients I’m referring to:
👉The client who was so motivated in week one and completely MIA by week six.
👉The client who keeps saying "I'll get back on track this week" and never quite does.
👉The client who agrees to everything in the session and does nothing between them (and has a different excuse every week).
👉The client who self-sabotages so reliably that you know what's coming before you even open their check-in.
So, you try to support those clients by doing what you were trained to do.
You update the training plan.
You increase accountability.
You spend more time on motivational pep talks than actually coaching.
And sometimes that does work… for a few weeks, maybe.
Then the same patterns come back.
So you adjust again, you suggest new solutions, you say the same thing (again) in a different way…
But then? Resentment starts to creep in.
Resentment toward the client, toward your work, and toward yourself for not being able to figure this out.
(Nobody talks about that part. But it happens. And if you've felt it, please know that this doesn't mean you're a bad coach.)
Here's what I know to be true (after a decade in the coaching space, mentoring 1000+ coaches, and years of researching mindset and health behavior change)...
Adjusting macros, updating training programs, and delivering pep talks when a client isn't following through is just band-aid. You’re only treating the symptom.
And that symptom keeps coming back because the actual cause was never identified.
"I'm not motivated this week." (Symptom)
The client who agrees to everything and does nothing. (Symptom)
When clients disappear after setbacks. (Symptom)
Underneath every one of those is a specific breakdown. There’s a broken link in the follow-through process. And that broken link is different for every client.
Coaches were never taught how to figure out what’s actually broken (the real cause).
And that's not your failure as a coach. That’s the health and fitness coaching education industry failing you.
In just 3 days, you'll end the frustration that comes with “I really hope this will get my client to follow-through” and you’ll become the kind of coach who knows exactly what’s keeping any client from sticking to the plan.

Follow-through doesn't break randomly. It breaks at one of 6 specific links — and knowing which one tells you exactly what the coaching conversation actually needs to be.
